Cracker Barrel Cheese Review and Giveaway

As you may have summed up from other posts on my blog I grew up eating strange things.  You can take peanut butter, bread, and your favorite item and make many combinations of sandwiches.  Peanut butter and banana peppers are my favorite (Ha!  Thought I was going to say bananas didn't cha? Well, that is good too!) Peanut butter and cheese is also delicious,  but I remember our most frequent and favorite snack.

We would turn on either Wild Kingdom or watch the Disney movie that was on that night (showing my age), grab a frozen Coke (Yes in the actual glass bottle), saltine crackers, slice up some hot peppers, and grab the Cracker Barrel Cheese.  Top a cracker with a slice of cheese and peppers and Oh my goodness you have one Spicy snack.

When I received my Cracker Barrel Mailer and opened it up, the packaging immediately brought back these memories!  We loved Cracker Barrel cheeses and I really cannot remember my dad purchasing any other types.  Guess what I had for snack last night?  Ahhhhh memories!  

The mailer included Cracker Barrel Natural Extra Sharp Cheddar Cheese and a beautiful cheese board with all the cheese cutting accessories included in a convenient swivel space underneath the cutting board.

The cheese is absolutely delicious!  We had some summer sausage lefter over so we used it along with the peppers.  I think that an old tradition has become something new at our house.

Entertaining Tips

• Cut cheese fresh from the refrigerator. It is easier to cut when cold.
• Set cheese out 30 minutes to one hour before guests arrive though, because cold temperatures mute the flavor.
• If you don't have a cheese slicer, use a potato peeler to cut thin slices of hard cheeses like Parmesan and Asiago.
• Set out permanent markers for guests to write their names on their wine glasses. The ink washes off glass with a little soap & water!
• Slate serving boards are great for displaying your cheese. Use chalk to write the names of the cheeses right on the board.
