Happy Halloween - Why Do I Buy So Much Candy?

I have to admit I normally do not like sweets. I would rather have something salty than sugary.  But one week out of the year I cannot help myself.  Something takes over me and I have to have candy.

When my boys were young enough to trick-or-treat, I would always be the first to dig into their bags of candy, of course only for safety reasons (ahem).

"Wait! That wrapper looks torn, ummm no, no, that looks a bit tampered with.  Better let me have those". (slide behind back hoping they would forget about it.)  Later I would eye my booty practically drooling "MY PRECIOUS".  But, the guilt would set in as I would look across the room.  The kids would be picking through their hard earned candy treasures with sullen looks on their faces.  OK, mom double checked the candy and it all looks good........you can have it back. Smiles appear on their faces again, cavities here we come!

So, how did I solve this little dilemma so that there would be candy for the adults?  My husband (The Halloween Grinch) says buy two bags of candy and just hand out one piece to each kid.  Are you kidding?  Do you know they carry weapons?  Plastic swords, water guns, eggs, toilet paper..........one piece of candy?  Not!  I got this!  I go to the store and come home with bags and bags of candy.  Chocolate candy,  sour candy, bubble gum, suckers, everything a mom kid could want.  Now the kiddos get more then one piece of candy, I get all the leftovers, and my husband, well, he will just get one piece.

Lol, a couple of years ago I stopped buying so much candy and buying those light up bracelets :)!! The kids love them & I can't eat them (or I haven't figured out a way to, yet!)!
Thanks for the laugh (ahh, memories)!

This visit brought to you by the blog hop over at beonefineday :)! Happy Friday!

See Misty! Now I know why I write this stuff. I would have never thought of the light up bracelets! We did have one house when we lived up North in Michigan to give out money. My angels(not) wanted to try to keep switching masks and keep returning to the same house. Oh boy.

Thanks for stopping by!
