Love seems the swiftest but it is the slowest of all growths. No man or woman really knows what perfect love is until they have been married a quarter of a century.
– Mark Twain
My grandparents were married for over 60 years. Yes they had their ups and downs, disagreements, and irritations about one another, but their love for one another was strong enough to get past all that. They would always show their love by hugging and as my grandfather called it "giving smooches." When my husband and I decided to tie the knot we sat down and talked about what we both thought marriage was about and that we are only doing it once. My grandparents molded me into who I am in more ways then one, but showing their commitment to one another applies to every aspect of my life. My husband and I have been married now for 23 years. There are days that I wonder, will we get through this? But I know that deep down we both really love and care for one another and my life would not be what it is without him. He is truly my friend and my partner for life and I love to get my smooches.
