Tilly Farmer is a 32 year old guidance counselor working at the same high school she graduated from. She is married to her high school sweetheart and desperately trying to have their first baby. Tilly immerses herself in the planning of proms, school plays, and anything else needed at the high school. She just cannot say no. Although she has had many difficulties within her family such as the passing of her mother and the relapses of her recovering alcoholic father, she sees her life as being full, perfect, and under control.
This is until she runs into an old high school friend who gives her the gift of clarity. Tilly starts seeing flashes into the future, but only snippets of things to come. Her life slowly starts to crumble around her. Tilly tries hard to hold everything together as she has always done, but her gift shows her that she cannot control everything.
I found this book to be very well written. It pulled me in to Tilly Farmer’s life and made me think of my own and how we all could use a little clarity.
