Meet Snickers..........
He is our 12 year old standard sized Rat Terrior. It is hard to believe that a little over a year ago he was completely paralyzed. He had jumped off my oldest sons bed and hit his back into a wooden box. The Vet told us not to hold out too much hope, that he would probably be paralyzed the rest of his life. We nursed him night and day for several months. Buying everything we could get our hands on to make his life a little easier. My husband would lay next to him and tickle his paws, because before he was hurt he hated it. One morning my husband called me at work and said "He kicked me!" Little by little we saw him start recovering. We continued to work with him by placing a sheet under his belly to hold him up hoping he would regain strength. I came home from work one day, bent down to pick something up and the next thing I knew Snickers was standing (Wobbling more like it) in front of me. Now he runs and plays almost like he used to, with the exception of running sideways on occassion, our Snickers is just as energetic as he was when he was a puppy. (I know he looks really energetic in the pictures). Our veterinarian was very surprised to see him walk into the office on our last visit. We have had many dogs in the past, but this one has won over the entire family. We hope for many more years of enjoyment with this larger then life dog.

What a wonderful story!!! Praise God for your pup's recovery! We have 3 dogs and I can only imagine what you went through. Each dog has had an emergency (or 5) but your story really touches my heart! Just goes to show that we shouldn't give up too soon!
