Should I Switch To A Custom Domain Through Blogger?

If you'd prefer not to have the *.blogspot.com extension in the URL for your website, you can choose to use a Custom Domain. When you set up a custom domain, Blogger will continue to host your website, but visitors will be able to visit at your new .com, .org or .net address. Basically instead of www.victoriasvoice44.blogspot.com it would be www.victoriasvoice44.com.  Cool! Right?

Blogger uses GoDaddy.com to register your domain for just $10 a year.  The hosting remains free through Blogger.  That is much cheaper then the other options I have looked at, plus everything "Google" still remains.

I would of course loose my page rank, Alexia ranking and on and on if I made the switch.  But Google Page Rank updates are going on this month.  I dropped from a 3 to a 2; so in the big picture, does it really matter?  I have been doing a lot of research and weighing out the pros and cons, but I still find myself wondering if I should jump.

For anyone who thinks they may be interested, I have included some links I have found to help you make your decision.

If any fellow bloggers have actually purchased your custom name through Blogger,  I would REALLY love to hear from you.  If you were using a custom template did it switch over?  How easy was the process?  Were and are you satisfied with the outcome?
